EWG Safe

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) uses the power of information to protect human health and the environment. EWG's Skin Deep database creates online profiles for cosmetics and personal care products and their potential hazards and health concerns. EWG fills in where industry and government leave off.

Personal care products are manufactured with more than 10,500 unique chemical ingredients, some of which are known or suspected carcinogens, toxic to the reproductive system or known to disrupt the endocrine system. When risky chemicals are used in cosmetics, the stakes are high.

DermaHarmony does not use raw ingredients considered unsafe by EWG. Skin Deep’s product ratings are based on the known hazards. Ratings represent EWG’s best effort to present solid information on cosmetic safety.

In some circumstances our ingredient standards are higher than Skin Deep's.  Such is the case with Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS).  Even though EWG classifies SLS as having a low overall hazard score, you'll find that most of our product don't contain any SLS.  Those that do contain SLS have been formulated in a way to minimize '1,4-dioxane' which has the potential to be carcinogenic.
