Pancreatin—lipase, amylase and protease
Pancreatin is a mixture of enzymes that dissolve fat, protein and carbohydrates. It consists of three enzymes: lipase, amylase and protease. Pancreatin is produced by the pancreas, which is an organ located posterior to the stomach.
Lipase uses hydrolysis to break down fat, amylase breaks down starch into glucose, and protease breaks down proteins. Pancreatin thereby assists in better absorption of these macronutrient components and their usage for energy by the body.
Health benefits of pancreatin

- Promotes better absorption of fats, starches and proteins
- May help with food allergies, cancer and weight loss
- Aids in the digestion of foods in case of pancreatic deficiency
