2% Pyrithione Zinc Cleanser (Liquid)
2% Pyrithione Zinc Cleanser (Liquid)
ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The Pyrithione Liquid Cleanser version of our 2% Pyrithione Zinc Bar Soap can be used as a soap, shampoo, or shaving soap. It has a smooth soft lather that won’t dry your face, body or hair.
- Free of sulphates, MPG, dyes, lanolin, PEG, parabens, formaldehyde, and formaldehyde releasers.
- All inactive ingredients are Whole Foods premium body care compliant.
- Oil-free and non-comedogenic.
The Zinc Cleanser replaces our Zinc Castile Soap that was made from 2017-2022. This cleanser:
- has better cleansing and foaming properties than the castile soap
- is thinner and pours from the bottle nicely through a larger disc cap lid
- shakes more easily and mixes well in both high and low temperatures
- requires less shaking because it suspends the zinc better
- works in both soft and hard water in high and low pH ranges
- has a superb pH level at 6.2 - your skin's natural pH is about 5.5
This is, hands down, an improved product. Our Pyrithione Zinc Cleanser is registered with the FDA as an Over-the-Counter (OTC) Drug for treating seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff.
SIZES

DIRECTIONS
For best results use daily or as directed by your doctor. Work up a lather using warm water and gently massage into affected areas. This is low lather cleanser, so you won't get a big lather. Cleanser should stay in contact with affected skin for 60-90 seconds. Rinse well. Use on affected skin or scalp in place of your regular soap or shampoo. In case of accidental ingestion, contact a physician or poison control center immediately. Rinse with water if cleanser comes into contact with your eyes (the zinc pyrithione will sting).
ACTIVE INGREDIENT
2% Zinc Pyrithione
INGREDIENTS
This is a heavily engineered non-soap plant-based cleanser that suspends the pyrithione zinc active nicely. The cleanser is thinner than our prior liquid soap and has a much longer shelf-life. It is easily shaken and flows nicely from the bottle. Achieving these characteristics would have been impossible without advanced modern ingredients. We spent more than 3 years formulating and testing this product as a replacement to our zinc castile soap.
Water
Lauryl Glucoside - a biodegradable and mild surfactant (cleansing agent) made by combining corn sugar with fatty vegetable alcohol
Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine - a conditioning agent and foam booster developed in the 1950s that is made from coconuts - its primary purpose is to attract dirt and oil so that you can rinse them off of your skin or hair
Sodium Lauroamphoacetate - an exceedingly mild zwitterionic (inner salt) plant-derived surfactant. The inner salt has an equal number of positively and negatively charged molecule working groups
Distearyl Phthalic Acid Amide - a vegetable-derived biodegradable emulsifier and suspending agent for zinc pyrithione and other difficult to suspend materials
Sodium Chloride - table salt
Lauramine Oxide - a clear pale-yellow amine oxide liquid derived from coconut used as a foam builder, stabilizer, and viscosity enhancer
Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil - has antifungal and antimicrobial properties and offers nutrients that reduce itching and flaking
Soyethyl Morpholinium Ethosulfate - a cationic (positively charged functional group) surfactant made from soy that is designed to neutralize odors
Phenoxyethanol - a ether alcohol preservative that comes from green tea used to stop mold and bacteria
Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice - an anti-inflammatory and effective skin moisturizer

I have seborrheic keratosis, little ones were starting on the tops of my feet. With the 2% zinc they are gone. Do you have a product for the established ones? Perhaps a higher zinc content?
Pyrithione zinc is not commonly used to treat seborrheic keratosis (SK). They are most often removed with liquid nitrogen, a scalpel blade/scraping, electrocautery, laster treatments, or a professional only (e.g. doctor) administered 40% hydrogen peroxide treatment. There is no FDA indication for removing seborrheic keratosis with topical use of pyrithione zinc. We do not make products for the treatment of SK.
It did what it was supposed to do
Used on face for minor wounds. Dries them out.
There is a little bit of a trial and error with learning how often to use this for my skin, but it has helped my rosacea and acne considerably!
This product has worked very well for my Seborrheic dermatitis without drying my skin out.
The Zinc soap was exactly as described. It arrived quickly and was well packaged.
I really love Zinc Therapy. My skin has cleared up after 4 days. My skin had a rash and some stinging going on, I started using this and after a day my skin felt fresh, the stinging was gone, the scent is nice, and leaves my skin feeling so clean. I will be ordering more because I like the way my skin reacts to it.
